MOSCOW, September 17 – RAPSI. Investigators opened a criminal case against a court employee at the Stavropol Territory Commercial Court for an attempt to take a 1 million ruble ($15,000) bribe, RIA Novosti reports citing the territorial office of the Interior Ministry.
“A court officer was caught in the act of taking an unlawful monetary reward of over 1 million rubles ($15,000),” the statement says.
The suspect intended to take money from an individual for ruling against a plaintiff in a case.
The judge has been charged with attempted fraud, an offense punishable by up to ten years in prison.
