MOSCOW, October 22 (RAPSI) – The Constitutional Court of Russia found it impossible to follow an example of the Strasbourg Court regarding the “special rights” of sexual minorities, the Constitutional Court’s judge Nikolai Bondar told journalists on Thursday.
“The Constitutional Court finds it impossible to base its judgement of sexual minorities’ rights on the example of the European Court and several European countries where classic concept of gender equality is now synonymous with granting special rights for sexual minorities”, Bondar said.
He added that the Constitutional Court believes that sexual minorities should have all rights that are not prohibited by Russian laws.
“There should be rights for special events, but those events should not turn into propaganda of untraditional sexual relations”, the judge said.
