MOSCOW, November 12 (RAPSI) – The Moscow Regional Court has convicted former police officer of espionage on behalf of CIA, RIA Novosti reported.
According to the Federal Security Service (FSB), Evgeniy Chistov, a former police officer in the Moscow region, was selling secrets of Russian state to CIA. He was sentenced to 13 years in prison.
In 2011 Chistov, who was serving in the police at that time, made a contact with CIA. He was gathering and transferring information, including classified data, to American agency. Chistov admitted his guilt.
