MOSCOW, January 28 (RAPSI) – Russian government has appealed with the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) Grand Chamber a ruling in favor of three convicts in Bolotnaya riots case which granted them seven thousand euros, attorney Dmitriy Agranovsky told RAPSI.
“Today I got an ECHR notification saying that Russian government asked the Court that the case would be reviewed by the Grand Chamber of ECHR”, attorney said.
In September of the last year, ECHR ruled that Russia must compensate three convicts in the Bolotnaya riots case: Artyom Savelov, Leonid Kovyazin and Ilya Gushchin, with 7 thousand euros. It was the first ECHR ruling regarding the case.
Russian court has sentenced Savylov and Guschin to 2.5 years in penal colony, both men have already served their terms while Kovyazin has been amnestied.
