ST. PETERSBURG, March 9 (RAPSI, Mikhail Telekhov) – The St. Petersburg City Court has ruled to release a seriously ill woman convicted of storing drugs, lawyer Vitaliy Cherkasov told RAPSI on Wednesday.
The woman is suffering from cancer and HIV. Her illness prevents her from staying in a penitentiary facility.
Earlier, the Smolninsky District court declined to release the woman. The ruling was appealed. The appeal was supported by prosecution and granted by the higher court.
