MOSCOW, March 21 (RAPSI) – A prosecutor has asked a court to give a Belgorod clinic’s ex-surgeon, Ilya Zelendinov, who allegedly punched a patient with a lethal strike, a 10.5-year prison sentence, RIA Novosti reported on Monday.
A prosecutor also sought to prohibit Zelendinov from practicing medicine for three years.
Zelendinov was charged with intended infliction of grievous harm to a person’s health that negligently caused the death. Additionally, he was accused of beating a man who accompanied the victim.
According to investigators, the incident happened on December 29, 2015 when a man who later became a victim was put in a clinic. During one of the procedures a man allegedly kicked a nurse which prompted Zelendinov to come to her defense. Ex-surgeon has punched a patient in the face which made a man to fall and die from cranial trauma.
