MOSCOW, October 12 (RAPSI) – A student from Russia’s Ivanovo region will stand trial on charges of making online calls for jihad and terrorism, the regional prosecutor’s office announced on Wednesday.
Investigators claim that in August 2014, the woman student posted freely available online videos containing justification of terrorism and calls for participation in terrorist activity and jihad. She has pleaded guilty in full.
According to the regional Investigative Committee’s Directorate, video clips published by the accused were declared extremist and included on the federal list of extremist materials in 2014.
The case has been forwarded to the Moscow District Military Court for hearing. If convicted, she could face up to 5 years in prison.
