MOSCOW, October 28 (RAPSI) – The Moscow Commercial Court has scheduled the hearing of a lawsuit filed by the Directorate of the Vostochny Cosmodrome seeking recovery of around 1.3 billion rubles ($21 million) from the contracting company Spetsstroy technologies for December 8, RIA Novosti reported on Friday.
The plaintiff demands to collect forfeit for breach of the construction contract signed by the parties in December 2014. Under the agreement, the defendant acted as “prime contractor”; the plaintiff was named “customer”.
According to the Cosmodrome’s lawyer, as of November 30, 2015, the scheduled completion date, the planned facility has not been built yet.
The construction of the space center, due to become Russia's main launch site, began in 2012. The facility is planned to be completed in 2016.
