MOSCOW, March 1 (RAPSI, Lyudmila Klenko) – A court in Vladimir will review a criminal case against lawyer, who allegedly embezzled 150,000 rubles ($2,600) from bribe that was to be transferred to an investigator, press-service for the regional Prosecutor’s Office announced on Wednesday.

Lawyer is charged with attempted swindling and mediation in bribery by a group of persons by previous concert.

According to prosecutors, the defendant was representing interests of head manager of aesthetic center “Aesthetic” Boris Melnik. Allegedly, Melnik’s lawyer was to transfer a 400,000-ruble ($6,900) bribe to an investigator in order to prevent law enforcer from taking measures against Melnik. However, the defendant allegedly decided to transfer only 250,000 rubles ($4,300) and to take the rest for himself. Now he faces long-term imprisonment.

A criminal case against Melnik, who is charged with giving a bribe to official through an intermediary for committing wittingly unlawful actions was transferred to the same court.
