MOSCOW, May 17 (RAPSI, Lyudmila Klenko) – The Syktyvkar City Court has sentenced former head of Komi Republic’s Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) Directorate Alexander Protopopov to 7 years in prison for receiving 625,000 rubles (about $11,000) in bribes, RAPSI learnt from the Investigative Committee’s press-service on Wednesday.
Additionally, Protopopov was fined 1.8 million rubles (about $31,500).
The court found out that between August and December 2014, the convict ensured conditions for signing a contract between Estet company and FSIN objects over delivery of vegetables. For his role in this deal he was paid 625,000 rubles. Overall, the price of deliveries reached no less than 10.5 million rubles (about $184,210) with Estet receiving profit no less than 1.6 million rubles (about $28,000).
