MOSCOW, June 6 (RAPSI) – Vice-governor of the Vladimir Region Yelena Mazanko has been charged with two instances of receiving bribes of large and exceptionally large scale, RAPSI reported from the Basmanny District Court of Moscow on Tuesday.
The court is reviewing a motion to detain Mazanko. During the hearing, an investigator presented additional documents in the case and noted that the defendant denies wrongdoing.
Earlier, the Investigative Committee announced that Mazanko is involved in receiving at least three million rubles (about $59,900) in bribes. According to investigators she received money from entrepreneurs for her help with signing government contracts over repair services in the regional administration office and procurement of furniture.
