ST. PETERSBURG, June 8 (RAPSI, Mikhail Telekhov) – The head of the Baltic Fleet Port State Control Inspection’ inspector department Vladimir Dzboyev has been sentenced to a 240,000 ruble fine ($4,200) for taking bribes, the Unified press-service of St. Petersburg courts told RAPSI on Thursday.
According to case papers, from April to October 2016, Dzboyev, authorized to carry out inspections of vessels’ readiness for sea, was issuing seaworthiness certificates without holding real inspections for bribes.
The court found that he had offered ship captains to give him money disguised as providing financial assistance. Bribe-givers transferred sums ranging from 5,000 to 10,000 rubles ($88-175) to his bank card.
