MOSCOW, June 9 (RAPSI) – A criminal case over assassination attempt on Ramzan Kadyrov, the President of Russia’s Chechen Republic, has been submitted to the Gudermes City Court, RIA Novosti reported Friday.
The court is currently studying the case to decide upon whether to consider it or not, the agency quoted a representative of the republic’s Supreme Court as having said.
According to media reports, three residents of the Chechen Republic will stand trial in the case. Aziz Alviyev, former bodyguard of an alleged mastermind of the attempted assassination, Beslan Zakarayev, ex-member of the "Vostok" battalion, and his neighbor Shamkhan Magomadov have pleaded guilty.
They have also testified against ex-officer of the "Vostok" battalion Isa Yamadayev, who is considered to be an organizer of the assassination attempt. Yamadayev was put on the federal wanted list in March.
