MOSCOW, September 20 (RAPSI) – The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has accepted for hearing a complaint lodged by mother of the Ukrainian journalist Oles Buzina, who was murdered in Kiev in 2015, lawyer Renat Kuzmin wrote on his Facebook page on Wednesday.
According to the attorney, the Strasbourg court will consider the application as promptly as possible.
In August, Kuzmin wrote that the journalist’s mother filed a complaint with the ECHR against Ukraine over actions of the country’s high-ranking officials.
Buzina was shot dead in close propinquity to his house in Kiev on April 16, 2015. Two months after, Ukraine’s Interior Minister Arsen Avakov reported arrest of two suspects, Andrey Medvedko and Denis Polishchuk. Initially, they were put in detention. However, in late 2015, they were released from jail and placed under house arrest.
