MOSCOW, October 20 (RAPSI) – The Oktyabrsky District Court of Murmansk has detained former deputy governor of the Murmansk Region, Igor Babenko, charged with fraud, the court’s press-service told RAPSI on Friday.
Babenko is to stay in detention until December 17.
Former deputy governor was arrested on Wednesday. According to the press-service of the regional government, Babenko left office on October 2. Earlier, he was responsible for coordination of state bodies and counteracting corruption.
The defendant controlled work of regional government as well as several regional ministries.
