MOSCOW, October 24 (RAPSI) – Alleged assailant, who wounded prominent Russian journalist Tatyana Felgenhauer with a knife, Boris Grits, has been detained for two months, RAPSI correspondent reports from the Presnensky District Court of Moscow on Tuesday.
Grits has been charged with attempted murder. He pleaded partially guilty.
According to investigators, on Monday Grits sneaked into the Echo of Moscow radio station and stabbed his victim in neck with a knife. Felgenhauer survived the attack and was transported to a hospital, where she underwent a surgery. Currently, she is in a serious but stable condition.
The defendant will stay in detention until December 23.
The Council of Europe called for a thorough investigation of the attack on the journalist.
