MOSCOW, March 7 (RAPSI) – A prosecutor has asked a court to sentence civil activist Mark Galperin charged with extremism to two years in a penal colony, Galperin’s lawyer Alexey Liptser has told RAPSI.
The defendant is charged with public calls for extremist activity committed with the use of mass media or the Internet. The case is concerned with online videos criticizing authorities.
According to investigators, Galperin systematically violated public order and did not comply with the demands made by police. In June 2017, the Tverskoy District Court of Moscow put the defendant in administrative detention for 15 days. He was found responsible for not obeying the police at the unlawful June 12 rally in Moscow.
