MOSCOW, April 5 (RAPSI) – CEO of the Baltiysky hydraulic equipment plant Alexander Kharitonov has been charged with fraud and money laundering, a representative of the main investigative directorate for the St. Petersburg department of the Investigative Committee has told RAPSI.
Investigators believe that from April 2014 till November 2015 Kharitonov signed a contract on provision of four industrial pumps evaluated at 194 million rubles ($3.3 million). Allegedly, after receiving 97 million rubles ($1.6 million) from Kirov-Energomash company Kharitonov did not provide the equipment and used the money for the needs of his own firm.
In 2017, Kharitonov was convicted in another case. The Kirovsky District Court of St. Petersburg found the man guilty of tax evasion.
