MOSCOW, May 22 (RAPSI) – A court in the Nizhny Novgorod region of Russia has sentenced former head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Use of Natural Resources’ (Rosprirodnadzor) department to 6 years in prison for bribery, the press-service of regional prosecutor’s office has stated.

In addition, the former official is to pay a 300-million-ruble fine ($4.9 million).

The court found that in 2011-2012, ex-official acted as part of an organized criminal group and received especially large bribes. He admitted his guilt in his final plea.
