MOSCOW, May 29 (RAPSI) – Former mayor of Tambov, a town in central Russia, Yury Rogachev has been sentenced to a 2-year suspended term for abuse of office, the press-service of the regional Investigative Committee has stated.
According to a court ruling, Rogachev is also prohibited from holding certain office positions for two years.
The court found that in 2016 the defendant asked to prepare documents for free transfer of a land plot to a third party for construction of a private house. He knew that the land plot was a part of recreational zone and could not be provided for private construction.
In November 2017, the former official was given a 3-year suspended sentence for a similar crime.
