MOSCOW, June 1 (RAPSI) – An Estonian innovation technology company has filed a lawsuit against Telegram founder Pavel Durov over alleged plagiarizing the so-called crypto passport, the spokesperson of Moscow’s Zamoskvoretsky District Court Emilia Khil has told RAPSI.

The claim’s subject is a software token, the service of user data safety control, owner identification and granting a secure access to remote resources, according to Khil. This passport is a key element of the work with cryptocurrency, the plaintiffs say. Developers in their lawsuit insist that the program was created between 2016 and 2017 and came at a price amounting to 800,000 euros. 

According to case papers, Durov attended the program presentation, and later Telegram team announced the development of crypto passport, which allegedly was a copy of the program created by the Estonian company.

The plaintiffs demand to recognize their copyrights and oblige the defendant to stop using the product.
