MOSCOW, October 12 (RAPSI) – The Blagoveshchensk City Court in the Russian Far East has ruled to detain the former mayor of Svobodny town Yury Romanov charged with abuse of office until December 12, the press-service of the court has stated.
Investigators claim that in 2015 Romanov, motivated by financial or other forms of personal interest, organized privatization of municipal property of the recreation camp Gvardeyetz (the Guardsman) at an understated price with the help from a head of the Svobodnensky district’s administration.
According to preliminary data, the alleged criminal caused damage estimated at 6.5 million rubles ($98,500) to the district, investigators added.
