MOSCOW, October 17 (RAPSI) – The Moscow City Court has extended house arrest of ex-financial manager of Nota-bank Galina Marchukova and her sister Larisa involved in a 350-million-ruble embezzlement case until January 18, 2019, the court’s press service has told RAPSI.
A criminal case over embezzlement in the bank was launched in December 2015. Charges were brought against sisters in July 2016. According to defense lawyer, Alexander Morozov, charges against Galina Marchukova relate to one embezzlement count over stealing 350 million rubles ($5.3 million) from Pharmster company.
In January 2016, the bank was declared bankrupt.
Examination of the bank by a temporary manager revealed evidence of deliberate bankruptcy of the financial organization. It was found out that in 2014-2015 persons in control of the bank manipulated the assets of Nota-bank.
