MOSCOW, November 14 (RAPSI) – Moscow’s entrepreneur Igor Sobolev has been acquitted of embezzling 1.3 million rubles (about $20,000) through the intervention of Russian business ombudsman Boris Titov, the ombudsman’s press service has told RAPSI.

The businessman was held in detention nearly 2 years, the statement reads.

According to investigators, between November 2015 and June 2016, Sobolev used his job position to steal assets worth about 1.3 million rubles belonging to Rusdefense company.

A court found that no crime had been committed, and the defendant’s guilt had not been proven.

The acquittal of Sobolev took effect on November 12.
