MOSCOW, November 22 (RAPSI) – The North Caucasus District Military Court has sentenced ex-head of Dagestan’s Kizlyar District Andrey Vinogradov to 15 years in high security prison for terrorism financing, the press service of Russia’s Investigative Committee reports Thursday.
Vinogradov has been also found guilty of infringement on the life of a law enforcement officer.
According to investigators, starting 2004, the defendant has been directly involved in infringement on the life of a law enforcement officer, and since 2010 he has taken part in the attempted murder of a deputy chief of Kizlyar’s city administration and another law enforcement officer. Moreover, investigators have collected evidence confirming Vinogradov’s involvement in terrorism funding, the statement reads.
A criminal case was opened against him after the murder of a gas exploitation service chief in 2010, a law enforcement officer and attempted murder of a deputy chief of Kizlyar administration.
