ST. PETERSBURG, January 9 (RAPSI) - Konstantin Teplyakov, a convicted member Russia’s hacking group Shaltai-Boltai, or Humpty Dumpty, has been released on parole, the United press service of St. Petersburg courts has told RAPSI.

The court ruling on Teplyakov’s early release took effect on Wednesday, according to the statement. His motion for parole was earlier supported by prison authorities.

In September 2017, Teplyakov and one more hacking group member Alexander Filinov received 3 years in prison each. Shaltai-Boltai leader Vladimir Anikeyev was sentenced to 2 years in prison in July 2017 as he had signed a plea deal with investigators.

From 2013 to 2016, Anikeyev and his accomplices hacked computers, cellphones and tablet computers of Russian citizens and stole information data, according to investigation. In some cases, they put the information for sale on the Internet. Anikeyev has pleaded guilty.

Recent amendments to the legislation on pre-trial detention envisage certain changes in the rules governing the set-off of time spent in detention with respect to the calculation of prison terms.
