MOSCOW, January 25 (RAPSI) - A court in Russia’s Novosibirsk has given ex-deputy chief of the Federal Agency for National Emergency Reserve’s Siberian District Directorate Ilgiz Garifullin 13 years in high security prison for corruption, the Prosecutor General’s Office reports on its website.
Additionally, the former official has been fined 100 million rubles. He has been also prohibited from holding managerial positions in public services for 3 years.
Garifullin has been found guilty of receiving large-scale bribes and petty bribery.
According to a court ruling, from 2014 to 2016, the defendant repeatedly received bribes totaling to 116.2 million rubles ($1.8 million) from two businessmen for assistance in winning closed competitive tenders on the right to purchase-and-sale contracts conclusion.
Moreover, in 2015, he received Porsche Cayenne car worth over 6.1 million rubles (over $90,000) as a bribe for similar assistance from businessman Stanislav Kabanyachiy. The businessman has been sentenced to 4 years in prison for bribegiving.
