MOSCOW, March 26 (RAPSI) – Probe has been opened into ex-Russian Minister for Open Government affairs Mikhail Abyzov over alleged embezzlement of 4 billion rubles ($62 million), the Investigative Committee’s press service reports Tuesday.
According to investigators, between April 2011 and November 2014, Abyzov, the owner of several offshore companies, organized and took the lead of a criminal group. The suspect along with his accomplices allegedly embezzled 4 billion rubles from Novosibirsk Region’s Siberian Energy Company and Regional Electrical Services generation and transmission corporations and transferred the money abroad.
The alleged criminals are suspected of large-scale embezzlement and organizing and participating in a gang. Investigation is underway.
