MOSCOW, April 16 (RAPSI) – The Moscow Commercial Court has upheld the Federal Antimonopoly Service’s decision to fine VimpelCom (Beeline brand), one of Russia’s top mobile operators, 100,000 rubles (over $1,500) for violating the advertising law.

In December, the watchdog’s commission found the mobile operator guilty of breaking the law by distributing advertisement of free incoming calls throughout Russia on television in September 2018. The video showed in violation of law the Russian Federation’s map not figuring and naming the Republic of Crimea and the city of Kaliningrad.

For this reason, the antimonopoly agency fined VimpelCom. The company challenged the decision in court but lost the lawsuit.
