MOSCOW, April 19 (RAPSI) – A court in Russia’s city of Syktyvkar, Komi Republic, has sentenced a former chief of a department of bailiffs to 5.5 years in prison for corruption, the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office reports.
The defendant has been found guilty of taking a grand bribe and abuse of power. His accomplice received 2 years behind bars for mediation in bribery, the statement reads.
According to case papers, from January 2017 to April 2018, ex-officer of the Federal Bailiff Service received a bribe worth 185,000 rubles ($3,000) through intermedia for non-recovery of more than 10 million rubles ($160,000).
