MOSCOW, July 3 (RAPSI) – The Investigative Committee of Russia is conducting a check over the death of underwater seamen on a scientific and research deep submergence vehicle, the body’s official spokesperson Svetlana Petrenko has told journalists.
A procedural finding will be made based on the inspection’s results, the statement reads.
According to the Defense Ministry, 14 submariners died from the fire on a deep submergence vehicle near Severomorsk, the city on the Kola peninsula in Russia’s Murmansk Region, on July 1. The blaze was doused; the vehicle was transported to a naval station.
