MOSCOW, July 30 (RAPSI) – The Moscow City Court had upheld a 30-days detention of opposition politician Alexey Navalny, who called for participation in an unauthorized rally in support of candidates refused registration for elections to the Moscow State Duma, RAPSI was told by the court’s press service.

The court has upheld a decision of Moscow’s Simonovsky District Court of July 24.

Navalny was brought to administrative responsibility for repeated participating in the unauthorized rally in the center of Moscow on June 12 to push back on the arrest of journalist Ivan Golunov, who was arrested and put under house arrest on suspicion of distributing drugs but later released.

According to the case materials, Navalny blocked the traffic and shouted slogans.
