MOSCOW, August 16 (RAPSI) – A court in Russia’s Ulyanovsk on Friday ordered the Finance Ministry to pay 200,000 rubles ($3,000) in compensation to activist Danil Alferyev for illegal prosecution of extremism, lawyer Rushan Kamalov told RAPSI.

A criminal case over extremism has been opened against Alferyev after his speech during a communist rally on November 7, 2014. Moreover, he was prosecuted of hatred and enmity.

Later, the Investigative Committee consolidated two cases and then dropped the charges filed against the defendant due to the lack of criminal elements he was charged with. Investigators also recognized his right to rehabilitation.
