MOSCOW, September 4 (RAPSI) – A court in Russia’s southern city Krasnodar has sentenced a former judge to 28 months in prison for large scale fraud, the Investigative Committee’s press service reports.
The court and investigators found that in 2014 a man suspected of illegal company formation applied to the defendant, then judge emeritus, for legal assistance, who fraudulently promised to help him in turn for 6 million rubles (over $90,000), the statement reads.
The applicant turned to law enforcement authorities. In June 2014, the former judge was caught red-handed when receiving the money.
