ST. PETERSBURG, September 11 (RAPSI, Mikhail Telekhov) – Ex-chair of the Legal Committee of St. Petersburg has been sentenced to a 50,000-ruble (about $800) fine for abuse of authority, RAPSI has learnt in the city’s Smolninsky District Court.

Osipova has pleaded guilty; and therefore, her case has been heard under a special procedure without examining evidence, the agency’s source has said.

According to prosecutors, the woman acting as the committee’s first deputy chair since 2015, and then as its chair, illegally involved the committee’s employees in the development of draft regulations for the needs of the city authority bodies, which was to be fulfilled by a commercial organization winning a tender.

Osipova received over 10 million rubles ($153,000) for illegal execution of the said works and spent the money for her own purposes, case papers read.
