MOSCOW, October 8 (RAPSI) – Moscow’s Izmailovsky District Court has sentenced a former deputy chief of a police office Murat Shtymov to 7.5 years behind bars for bribery, the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office reports.
His accomplice Kamandar Namazzade has received 5.5 years in penal colony.
In addition to the prison terms they were fined 7.2 million rubles ($110,300) each.
According to the statement, the defendants have been found guilty of receiving a bribe and mediation in bribery.
The court has found that the defendants had promised one prosecuted man to help terminate a case against him for 500,000 rubles. They were arrested in May 2018 after receipt of the bribe.
