MOSCOW, October 17 (RAPSI) – Investigation into a criminal case against two individuals charged with financing terrorism and instigation to participation in fighting on the side of terrorists in Syria has been completed in Russia’s Kaliningrad Region, the Investigative Committee’s press service reports.

Evidence has been collected, the defendants have been finished reading case papers, the statement reads.

According to investigators, in 2016, one of the accused, who was a supporter of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization banned in Russia, induced another man to depart for Syria to join the group. The second defendant allocated 200 euros for the trip of a recruited person.

In May 2018, the two defendants were arrested by officers of the Federal Security Service’s (FSB) Kaliningrad Region directorate and placed in detention by a court order.
