MOSCOW, October 29 (RAPSI) – Moscow’s Chertanovsky District Court has sentenced the Tver Region’s government minister Victor Shaforost to 4 years in prison for the felony arson of a car, according to a statement published on the website of Russia’s Investigative Committee.
Other accomplices have received prison sentences ranging from 3 to 4.5 years.
The court found that in March 2018 the minister and his accomplices burnt up Toyota Highlander car, which was a real evidence in a criminal case. A car owner suffered damage estimated at more than 1 million rubles, the statement reads.
Depending on their role, the defendants have been found guilty of hindering conduct of preliminary investigation and intentional destruction of property committed from molester motives.
