MOSCOW, October 30 (RAPSI) – A court in Kurgan, a city in Russia’s Ural, has sentenced a former chief of the regional directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) Ilgiz Ilyasov to 5.5 years in penal colony for corruption, the Investigative Committee’s press service reports.
According to investigators, the defendant has abused his authority during the acceptance of a multi-apartment residential building for current and retired FSIN employees. He has also received bribes in the form of construction materials from a construction contractor for protection, the statement reads.
Moreover, in December 2013, Ilyasov received luxury floor tile as a bribe from another representative of a construction organization, which began to perform subcontract works in the regional penal colonies, the news release says.
