MOSCOW, November 13 (RAPSI) – A Moscow Region’s lawyer will stand trial on attempted fraud charges, the Investigative Committee’s press service told RAPSI on Wednesday.

Investigation into the attorney has been completed. The case with an approved indictment has been forwarded to court for consideration, according to the statement.

Investigators claim that the defendant during the legal counselling has persuaded a citizen to give him 3.5 million rubles for alleged bribe to a judge for delivering a non-custodial sentence against the individual. However, the lawyer was arrested when received a part of the demanded sum.

The investigation revealed that the lawyer had no understanding with the judge; and the defendant wanted to spend the money for his own purposes.
