MOSCOW, December 11 (RAPSI) – Polish authorities extradited Russian man Yevgeny Ivanov, who had earlier escaped from custody, the Prosecutor General’s Office reports Wednesday on its website.

In January 2012, a court in the Kursk Region found Ivanov guilty of road traffic accident by negligence resulted in the death of a person and sentenced him to 1.5 years in penal colony settlement.

In the fall of the same year, the convict managed escape from a penitentiary hospital. A criminal case was opened over his escape. The man was put on the international wanted list.

In August 2018, he was found in Poland and Russian prosecutors forwarded an extradition request to the country’s authorities.
