MOSCOW, January 21 (RAPSI) – Moscow’s Preobrazhensky District Court has fined football club Lokomotiv 100,000 rubles ($1,600) for breaching safety rules during a Champions League match at their stadium, RAPSI has learnt in the court’s press service.
The violations were committed during a football game with the Spanish Atletico Madrid in December. According to a person familiar with the matter, there were no special equipment tools for the search of fans at the stadium's entrance and explosives detection means were not used.
FC Lokomotiv was established in July 1922. The club has thrice been Russian champions and won numerous silver and bronze medals of the championship. Lokomotiv won the Russian Cup eight times, and the Russian Supercup three times, the FC’s website reads.
