MOSCOW, February 28 (RAPSI) – Ex-chief of the Interior Ministry’s Directorate for the Kamchatka Krai Alexander Sidorenko has received 5 years behind bars for wastage of budget funds worth over 200 million rubles (about $3 million), the Investigative Committee’s press service reports.
He has been found guilty of abuse of power, says the press service.
In 2013-2015, Sidorenko while executing a state construction contract along with his subordinates changed the agreement’s terms and permitted payment of unperformed works. The actions caused damage estimated at more than 87 million rubles to the state, the 200 million-ruble wastage of budget funds and failure to fulfill a government's defense order, the statement reads.
