MOSCOW, April 1 (RAPSI) – A former head of the Saratov Region’s town of Engels Dmitry Lobanov has received 9 years in a high security penal colony for receiving a property bribe, the Investigative Committee’s press service reports.
Additionally, the former official has been fined 19.9 million rubles (over $250,000) with the prohibition to occupy state and municipal positions for 5 years.
According to investigators, in 2017, Lobanov received a cottage and a land plot worth over 4 million rubles (over $50,000) as a bribe for providing land plots for construction of townhouses to two businessmen and adoption of administrative decisions on the issuance of the construction and exploitation permits.
