MOSCOW, May 8 (RAPSI) – Over 100 children died during road traffic accidents in Russia in 2020, the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office reported Friday.

According to the statistics, minors are mostly not protected category of road traffic participants. Starting 2020, over 30,000 vehicle accidents were recorded; more than 100 children died; over 4,500 were injured, the statement reads.

Prosecutors’ estimates show that children often become involved in the road accidents as pedestrians. However, parents sometimes allow minors drive cars in the guise of education.
