MOSCOW, May 18 (RAPSI) – Investigators launched a criminal case over breaching sanitary and epidemiological rules against a woman infected with coronavirus who had escaped from a hospital in Cheboksary, the capital of Russia’s Chuvash Republic, the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office told RAPSI on Monday.
The prosecutors’ check revealed that the woman who had tested positive for COVID-19 was hospitalized in April. On May 6, she voluntary left the hospital. The same day she was arrested and placed in the hospital again, the statement reads.
Earlier, the woman was cautioned about responsibility for unauthorized leaving the medical organization. She can be sentenced to 2 years behind bars if convicted.
