MOSCOW, May 26 (RAPSI) – A criminal case has been opened over a massive COVID-19 outbreak among employees and residents of a board and care facility for veterans in Russia’s Oryol Region, according to the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

It was established that this May the facility experienced a massive outbreak of the disease; four employees and 22 residents fell ill as a result of violations of sanitary and epidemiological rules in spite of the introduction of a high alert regime, the statement reads.

The violations were revealed in the course of an inspection carried out by the Prosecutor’s Office, basing on its results investigators opened the criminal case, the Prosecutor General’s Office informs.
