MOSCOW, June 22 (RAPSI) – A former deputy chief of the Interior Ministry’s Krasnoyarsk Region Main Directorate Alexander Kuznetsov has been given a 5-year suspended sentence in a case over abuse of power, RAPSI has learnt from the Investigative Committee’s press service.
According to the court ruling, in late 2012, Kuznetsov signed a work acceptance protocol on the construction of a detention facility in Norilsk. Based on the document, the defendant received over 200 million rubles (about $3 million). A contractor received the funds but failed to fulfill the works.
The detention centre has not been built yet. Damage caused to the Interior Ministry’s Krasnoyarsk Region Main Directorate has not been reimbursed, the statement reads.
