MOSCOW, October 12 (RAPSI) – Moscow’s Tushinsky District Court of Moscow on Monday fined FC Spartak 300,000 rubles (about $4,000) for violating sanitary and epidemiological measures during a football game with St. Petersburg’s Zenit, RAPSI reports from the courtroom.
Spartak admitted violation of anti-coronavirus sanitary rules but stated that the football clud had done it best to prevent them.
The club’s representatives claimed they involved 745 controllers supervising fans violating the order and bought masks and gloves for all visitors; and tickets were sold in accordance with the sanitary rules. However, they had not a right to forcedly expel violators from the stadium. The club asked court not to suspend its activity.
The match beween Spartak and Zenit was run in Moscow on October 3 and ended in a 1:1 goal scoring draw. About 21,000 visitors were at the stadium that could not violate a 50% quota of the stadium capacity, according to the Moscow football club.
