MOSCOW, October 23 (RAPSI) – A former deputy chief of a Nizhny Novgorod police station is suspected of negligence as to a case over fatal shooting allegedly committed by the 18-year local resident Danila Monakhov, the Investigaitve Committee’s press service reports.
Investigators believe that in March 2019, the suspect approved an illegal act of a police children' officer refusing to open a criminal case against then minor over preparation to murder despite a check had revealed sufficient evidence of his criminal intent.
According to the investigation, on October 12, Monakhov fired shots at residents of one of the Nizhny Novgorod villages without rhyme or reason. Three men died of injuries; three women including Monakhov’s grandmother were taken to a hospital. Monakhov later killed himself.
